Why Freedom Fields Matters
Freedom Fields is more than just extra land — it’s a life-changing 5-acre natural habitat expansion in Hartford, Alabama, designed specifically for rescued and rehomed African servals. Currently, many servals live in limited spaces that restrict their natural behaviors like running, jumping, hunting, and exploring. Freedom Fields will give up to 20 servals the room they need to thrive, with enriched enclosures, safe roaming areas, and an educational platform where visitors and group members can learn responsible exotic cat care. Every donation, ECHO registration, and swag purchase directly funds fencing, shelters, enrichment, and lifelong care — turning your support into real freedom and better lives for servals who deserve a sanctuary home.

From the Founder
Hi, I’m Donna MeChel Whitaker, founder of The Serval Conservation and Educational Refuge (TSCAER), creator of the ECHO Registry, admin of The Serval Lover Educational and Rescue Group on facebook and author of Exotic Cat Care Guide: African Serval Cat Care. For years I’ve cared for rescued servals, helped owners through responsible husbandry, and dreamed of giving these incredible cats the space they truly need. Freedom Fields is that dream becoming reality — a 5-acre sanctuary where rescued servals can live enriched, natural lives instead of being limited by small enclosures. Your support through registrations, swag purchases, book sales, or direct donations doesn’t just help pay for fencing or food — it gives these animals a second chance at freedom and helps us educate the next generation of responsible exotic cat owners. Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re building something that will last for decades and improve the lives of servals for years to comen for a personal touch.
